The Cloud Engineer is a vital member of the services team and is a key contributor at every level of our professional services and managed services delivery. The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, implementing, and securing our clients cloud environments. The ideal candidate will bring expertise with Microsoft Azure and 365 cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. Creating cloud environments from start to finish and supporting other members of the services team their cloud environments. In addition, the Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing maintenance plans for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS based systems that align with other Chester IT Managed Service offerings.

Candidates must be able to reliably commute to Valparaiso, IN. This is a full-time, M-F position with occasional after-hours work. There is an opportunity for remote work following a successful probationary period.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Designing cloud systems and services
  • Deployment of new Azure/O365/M365 cloud environments for our clients
  • Assist other members of the service team in supporting client cloud environments
  • Develop and manage cloud maintenance tasks
  • Develop and maintain cloud security practice and ensure continual monitoring for adherence to security standards
  • Review existing cloud environments to ensure best practices are followed, and recommend changes where necessary
  • Participate in client validation and proposal meetings with the account management team
  • Scope and generate cloud project plans, defining steps necessary for successful project completion and defining project milestones/timelines
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for cloud services
  • Lead and contribute to analysis of client environments to develop a detailed technical document that outlines technical recommendations
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to client environments
  • Mitigate risks by complying with all industry specific regulations and “zero-trust” security mindset

General Responsibilities

  • Track and report service activity in Chester’s service ticket system
  • Maintain up to date industry/manufacturer technical certifications
  • Guide and mentor less experienced team members

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of IT engineering experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Microsoft 365, Google Cloud Platform, and Amazon Web Services
  • Expertise in TCP/IP, IPSec and Network Automation
  • Expert in related industry specifications and standards for IEEE, ANSI and the OSI model
  • Advanced knowledge of network design, devices, appliances, architecture, protocols, and topology
  • Expert written and spoken English communication skills with all levels of an organization

Required Education & Training

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Industry or vendor-specific certifications, relevant to MS Azure, AWS, O365, M365

Pay: $80,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Supplemental Pay:
