Microsoft has announced End of Support for SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2 beginning on July 9, 2019. Microsoft End of Support for Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft Windows 7 Operating Systems, January 14, 2020.
After these dates, Microsoft will no longer release security updates, which may expose you to security attacks or compliance risks with industry regulations such as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). If you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended, your PC will still work, but will become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses.
