Full Job Description

Chester IT is looking for a Service Desk Engineer to assist in the proper management of our Managed IT clients’ networks. The role requires a strong technical skill set along with excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to continually learn new business technologies and practices.

This is a full time position based out of our Valparaiso, Indiana office. Candidates must be willing to work from our office Monday – Friday, 8am -5pm. There is no remote/hybrid work schedule available for this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Pro-actively monitor client networks. Focused on resolving issues before they impact client operations.
  • Serve as an escalation point for company and end-user support remotely as it pertains to the networking technologies. These include Windows PC’s, Windows Server, Hyper-V, Exchange, file shares, firewalls, switches, unified communication devices, BDR solutions, Active Directory, Group Policy configuration, and Microsoft 365.
  • Identifies, documents, and troubleshoots user computing issues to resolution.
  • Assessment and onboarding of new clients.
  • Working with the account management team to provide reports and data associated with client systems and services.
  • Installation, configuration, and repair of computer hardware and software

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Server Administration (Windows Server 2012-2022)
  • Active Directory management and maintenance
  • DNS, DHCP, RDS management
  • Hyper-Visor Administration
  • Storage maintenance (SAN/NAS)
  • NGFW/UTM device management & maintenance
  • Network switch and access point management and maintenance
  • Disaster recovery and backup solutions
  • Microsoft 365 and other cloud based services
  • Remote Monitoring and Management tools such as Kasaya or LabTech/Automate

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Cyber-Security, Computer Science, or related field. (required)
  • 3+ years experience working in a NOC or as a systems administrator / network engineer (required)
  • Experience working for a Managed Services Provider (nice to have)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
